We are running out of time. If you feel strongly about righting the many wrongs in our judiciary please sign the online petition here. We need an independent judiciary where our fundamental liberties will be defended.
Anwar Ibrahim said: ‘Anak Melayu, anak kita, anak Cina anak kita, anak India, pun anak kita. Mengapa harus kita bezakan?”
Translated to English he says, "A Malay child is our child, a Chinese child is our child, an Indian child is also our child. Why is there a need for us to differentiate?"
What a beautiful world this would be ... transcending global divides ... be still my beating heart ...
I wait eagerly for the day to come where we Malaysians become one race, all united with a common vision. And I can see and feel that it will happen very soon. I believe that Malaysia is on the cusp of true democracy under the leadership of Anwar Ibrahim. If you have not read this piece of precious writing by Haris Ibrahim, I implore that you do. It's an open letter to Anwar. If you are a Malaysian I assure you, you'll be moved.
For those who have not registered with the Online Petition to the king with regards to the appointment of the new Chief Justice in mid October please read the cause and join in the petition if you feel strongly against the appointment and wish to see an independent judiciary.
The tutorial was featured in The Gift of Stitching (June 2007) online magazine.

My second Tilda project ... woo hoo I am on the run :) It's for my sis.
It's not really quilted as it does not go through all the layers, just the top and cotton batting were back-stitched. I will try to use my walking foot for the next one. This was very easy and fast to do up.
This is Anwar Ibrahim's constant signature cry to 'fight keep on fighting'. The ruling government is hell bent to stop him. I am sure dear readers that you are aware of the political treachery that is going on in my/our country Malaysia. You must think that we are a country full of sodomites. I am so ashamed. Clearly to the majority of Malaysians, we all know that these accusations are all trumped up, all politically motivated.
There are so many indications of the judiciary being manipulated by the executive, in fact there has been a Royal Commission and proven so. Corruption is rampant, starting from the highest echelons of power. Abuse of power of the police is widespread. Economy stability is dwindling. Government control of the mainstream media is so glaring. Are we going the path of a rogue nation? Is Malaysia a Zimbabwe or a Myanmar in the making?
We implore to the goodness of our King to help us. If you are a Malaysian citizen and feel strongly about the current state of the judiciary, please sign the petition to the King here. I have.
This just got out on the net. A dance-rock video by Asian DJ Duo, Zen T & DJ Satori C. A rightly tribute supporting the struggles of Anwar Ibrahim. Pump up the volume for an adrenalin filled effect! :) And my all time hero Mahatma Gandhi is featured too! I think it is coool!
In the final clip Anwar says 'Malaysians are intelligent. Malays are powerful, Chinese are powerful, Indians are Makhal Sakti!! (people power in Tamil). Oh ... what a beautiful vision!
If you have some time you might want to watch this video with clips of Anwar Ibrahim to the tune of My Sacrifice by Creed. His work, his reformation agenda, his family, his beating while in police custody by none other than the top-brass himself the then Inspector General of Police. Such tragedy!
Anwar Ibrahim is Malaysia's Prime Minister in waiting. He is my Prime Minister.
Melanie received my first floss tag. If you recall dear readers, some months back, she was the lady that generously parted with The Teacher a Butternut Road chart. So as a thank you gesture (albeit late) I stitched her this:
Lillie so kindly gave me the Kreativ Blogger Award. My thanks.
I really don't see how I deserve this though. I've never been a creative sort and most of what I have done were inspired (read copied) from blogs such as yours, dear readers. I declare I am a follower. Oh ... maybe some improvisations here and there but I doubt that would constitute creativity of the noblest kind :p
SGB for Mid July. My second attempt on a floss tag. The first one has been sent down under and I don't think she's received it yet. However this is my first attempt at fixing the eyelet myself. Fascinating! All thanks to the wonderful tutorial by Staci .

Margaret W, June, Lillie and I entered into a needlewomen's agreement ;) in March this year. I dubbed it the Quartet Exchange since there's the 4 of us ... such linguistic creativity :p Without a doubt I am certain dear friends, you know first hand how 'busy' we stitchers can be :p Hence the exchange had a time frame of 1 year!
I therefore completed the exchange in a leisurely and constant manner. And towards the end found myself eager to finish them to be sent for my friends' enjoyment :)
I bought some fabric from Mary Kathryn'swebshop a couple of months back and one of the packages got lost. Mary so kindly offered to replace the order. I don't know how many INS owners would go that extra mile but Mary sure did. And as a thank you gesture I stitched Time for Tea with Max and finished it into a small draw string bag. She says she likes it as she's collecting all things tea! :)

I've been tinkering about doing a blog giveaway like what I've seen so many of you dear readers do. I am offering a little draw-string pouch, nothing too fancy. It's smallish and fully lined . Great for your trinkets and this and that ... :) A strip of embroidered ribbon is sewn across. I thought it gave a nice touch :)
Designer: Les Grilles De Maryse (freebie) Fabric: 32ct Belfast Angel Blush Threads: DMC
Anyone can partake in this giveaway. You may be anywhere in this Big Blue Marble (anyone remember the TV series?). No matter if you 'know' me or commented on my blog before. All you have to do is just comment on this post along with your name. I'll use a random name generator and if your name comes up top, I'll get the pouch to you! Easy! :)
I'll make the draw the first thing I get online in the morning of 30th June 2008 (Malaysian Time GMT +8.00)
